a full day

i was up at 6am in order to be uptown for the susan komen breast cancer walk. i wasn't sure if i was definitely going to do the walk but i felt good enough to do part of it. team patwa was our team and we were awesome! it was an honor to be part of team patwa and i hope this day spoke to amy in many wonderful ways. seeing all the thousands of people participating in this event was extremely touching. i hope it's something i can do every year, maybe with elin, since she technically did it with me this year.

here is amy with her sweet family (adam and charis)
here is our west charlotte high school dinner crew:

thanks to amy for being on the ball and posting these pics to her caringbridge site.
and thanks to God for that beautiful smile on her face, and all those that have shown her so much love and support.

after some rest and food, ben, buxton, howdy and i headed up the street to the annual antique car show.

we first attended this in 09, when buxton was a wee one.
he's not so wee anymore.
the host of this car show is an old service station, that really isn't a service station anymore. i think it's a garage where the owner works on the old car he owns. it has a huge field in front so it's perfect for all the cars to be put on display. apparently the owner was close to ben's grandaddy, the very first howard benson smith...
...cause this very sweet and special sign is posted on the front of the building:

my next post will contain pics of this sweet boy's new baby sister!

Do you by chance know Jen Hunt? I think she posted something about your friend when she was diagnosed as well. What a small world. I am happy there are so many wonderful people praying for her!!
