Memorial Day trip to Charleston

On Sunday Ben, Buxton and I drove to Charleston for a visit with Harper, John, and the Macmurphy family. It was an awesome trip and boy was it action packed. We fished, toured the Irvin House vineyards/Firefly Vodka location, went to Folly Beach, ate dinner downtown, shopped, and spent lots of QT with Harper and John. No wonder I am tired! Buxton went to the beach for the 1st time and did great. He loved the nice breeze and warm air. And the Macmurphy family was sooo nice to meet us at their vineyards (and where Jay works) on Memorial Day to give us a tour and tell us how the wine and vodka is made. It was such a beautiful place and you will see for yourself how beautiful the Macmurphy family is. Kimberly and I have been friends since college and now she has 4 kiddos. Riley, Keilyn, John Dunovant and Baen....in order of age. Check out the pics below:

12 weeks the Cannady's and a big 1st

Today Buxton is 12 weeks old! I was supposed to be back to work today but postponed it 1 week so I can go to the mountains for a couple days then to the beach for Memorial Day. Buxton went to his daycare, Life 4 Kidz in Cramerton, for a few hours this morning so it was a big day for him! He did great and loves his teacher (also my next door neighbor), Pam. Here are pics from his 1st day:

On Monday Buxton and I had the pleasure of visiting with the Cannady's and we LOVED playing with Haley and Charlie. Haley is such a big girl now and even fed Buxton! Look at how beautiful these children are! Mary and Scott are the best parents and I just love them all so much.

Here is sweet Charlie...the sweetest 2 year old (turned 2 on Tues) ever:

And here is Haley, the little princess that has the longest legs and sweetest smile:

1st Mothers Day

My first Mothers Day was awesome and I feel so blessed to be a Mom and have this most precious baby boy in my life. Spending the day with Buxton and Ben was such a treat and I loved every minute. In addition to my many presents Ben started, and almost finished, a project we have been wanting to do for 3 years...and that is staining the concrete around the pool. More to come about this later and I will post pics too. But for now enjoy the pics below...

A Black Mtn play day

On Tuesday Buxton and I drove up to Black Mountain to visit with the Grant and Lowrance families. We got to meet baby Beckett for the 1st time and that was really cool because he and Buxton are 1 month apart. We also got to see the beautiful BellaRose and catch up with Sunday, Worth, Matt and Margaret. These 4 are old  and dear friends from my Boone days and being with them is relaxing, inspiring and reminiscent all at the same time. Oh and with Matt around there is sure to be a lot of laughing cause he is a trip. I love that we are still friends and more connected than ever now because we all have babes in common. Ben is also so similar to Worth and Matt with their interests in skate boarding, fishing, golf and all manly things outdoors.

This is the beautiful BellaRose who steal your heart in a minute with her piercing eyes and perfectly sweet features. She is also sweet as pie and appropriately obsessed with being outside and playing with water...she is most definitely Worth's daughter. :)

Here is the most handsome baby Beckett who is 6 weeks old and surprisingly alert! I think he looks like his Daddy. We are very excited about our boys being so close in age and I look forward to the adventures they may share one day.

Here is Margaret and I with our babes. Margaret is such a sweet and beautiful person and Beckett is so lucky to have her as his Momma!

We had to capture all the kids in their BOB strollers. How perfect is this! On the very left is Ellen who is 1 and Sunday and Worth's neighbor.

And finally here are 3 shots of our precious bundles of love:

Have a blessed day! Kristin

Not me Monday

The "not me monday" idea comes from a "celebrity blogger" known as MckMama. It gives us a chance to confess some of the things we do each week that are very human and even kind of funny.

www.mycharmingkids.net.jpg

Here are mine:

No I didn't make the bed this AM for the second day after Buxton had gagged himself with his new found thumb and threw up on Ben's side of the bed...not sir not me.
No I didn't spend WAY too much $ on birth announcements today because my plan to make them myself became too time consuming and difficult...nope not me.
No I didn't ask my parents to help me pay for the birth announcements and justify this request by saying that my mailing list includes a lot of their friends and family...no sure didn't.
No I didn't spend 3 hours on the computer this morning when I should have been outside playing/working with my husband in our yard in this beautiful weather...no no not me.
But I am going outside now so peace out for now.

Enjoy your week! Kristin

New landscaping, Skate demo and Tiger Woods

We have been very busy (whats new) with all kinds of projects at home and with lots of outings. Two weekends ago we re-did our front beds along the house and this entailed pulling everything out and starting from scratch. One tree on the right corner was kept. 4 flats of Impatiens were planted and yes this was a lot of work for parents with an 8 week old. Here are the pics:

BEFORE
AFTER

These are 2 pics from a skate demo we went to that Ben's best friend, Brandon, held at the Epicenter to promote Elwood and his store Revolution. This was Buxton's 1st skate event!

Buxton and Uncle Brandon

Yesterday we went to the Wachovia/Quail Hollow Golf Tournament and yes we took Buxton. Pretty bold move I know but he did great. It was our first time to see Tiger Woods in person and it was awesome. I secretly hoped Buxton was paying close attention in case he decides to be a pro golfer instead of a pro skater. :)

And lastly I wanted to share my new haircut which I love and is so much easier to deal with!
