a look ahead

i think i'm more excited about this next year than i ever have been about a new year. not because this year was bad in any way, but more because it was so good and i just feel that it's going to keep getting better. for one i'm in such a good place emotionally, mentally, physically -all of it, and feel better than i did at this time last year for sure. having a very large baby inside me in early 09 and dealing with the negatives of postpartum afterwards probably contribute to why i feel so good now. but also i'm so excited about the stage buxton is in now and what we have to look forward to coming up. he gets sweeter and happier every day (if thats even possible). i'm also really excited about a new blog Bible study I'm going to do this year which will require 15 minutes every day and will be so educational. melissa gibbs, our high school young life leader is leading the blog and she is SO wonderful in so many ways. she has 4 boys and a very busy husband so if she can commit the time to lead this study then i feel that much more encouraged to follow and read everyday. feel free to join in too because it's open to anyone. the link is listed in my blog list.

buxton is pushing this walker you see below so well now and shows a strong desire to be upright more every day. i think it's safe to say that he will be walking before Feb. 25th when he turns 1.

my mom loaned me her brand new (purchased 5 years ago) sewing machine so i'm hoping to learn some crafty new things this year. i don't even know how to thread it so i have a long ways to go. my encouragement came from the idea to do some appliques on shirts for buxton since boy shirts are so often tacky and too loud for my taste. this one below is the first i did and i hand stitched the borders instead of using the machine. i like the way it looks but we'll see how well it holds up.

happy 2010 and many blessings to you!

I can feel your excitment and it makes me so excited. I just can't believe Buxton is going to be one soon. My how fast time has flown. When they are a newborn it feels like forever but now it is just flying. I will have to check out that study too. I have one I do with the girl's once a week but it would be nice to get myself in the Word daily. Thanks for sharing that. Can't wait to see what the new year brings you!!

oh and i did not even comment on the sewing! good job. I like the hand stitched look. My friend who did the burp clothes and bibs for you is starting to finally sell her sewing. She loves to do the appliques too for her little boy.
